Most kids - especially boys - beloved dinosaurs, making books on the subject peculiarly appealing to young readers. This collection of twenty brusque and giddy dinosaur poems, collected by Lee Bennett Hopkins and presented alongside the bright and colorful illustrations of Barry Gott, serves that purpose well for the most part. This collection of 20 short and silly dinosaur poems, collected by Lee Bennett Hopkins and presented aslope the vivid and colorful illustrations of Barry Gott, serves that purpose well for the most role. To me, the inclusion of and so many actual dinosaur names is a fleck problematic, every bit even well-schooled parents will notice themselves tripping over the pronunciation of such words every bit Acrocanthosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, and Pachycepholosaurus. At that place is a guide on the proper pronunciation of all these dinosaur names included, only still, these words get way beyond the reading level assigned to this book (Level 2 in the I Can Read categorizations, which basically means this book is designed for developing readers who may yet need some aid from their parents). The poems themselves are indeed brusk and silly, so nearly kids in the 4-half dozen age grouping will probably find them fun and giggle-worthy. And if they don't giggle at the poems themselves, they no doubt will enjoy a few snickers at their parents' struggles to pronounce all of the dinosaur names for them. ...more than
A great resource for our unit on dinosaurs!
That was a typical 3-star children's book right up till the last "poem", which happens to be super-moralistic and obviously icky. That was a typical three-star children's book right upwardly till the last "poem", which happens to exist super-moralistic and plainly disgusting. ...more than
This volume was easy to read. I thought it to exist especially appealing to boys as most of the poems in the book talked about Dinosaurs. I liked how in the front of the volume it had each dinosaurs name and how it is pronounced, teaching the children the proper fashion to say the "big" words in the book was a prissy added feature to the book. The illustrations were very colorful and heart appealing. This book was easy to read. I thought it to be especially highly-seasoned to boys as most of the poems in the book talked about Dinosaurs. This is a dandy poetry book. Children love dinosaurs and it is piece of cake to follow forth to. Great volume to help teach children poesy.
This is a book of poems for immature children. Information technology is filled with sense of humour for kids at a young historic period. I would propose this for children at a young unproblematic level
This a cracking book to get students interested in verse. The poems are piece of cake to empathize, and students could clarify them.
Very unproblematic poems about dinosaurs.
A fun and gentle introduction to poetry for kids who like dinosaurs. However it's not a step 2 reader book when it contains all sorts of exotic dinosaur names and plays on words to ensure rhyming.
